"Choosing Wisely"

Survey: Oncologists Better Informed than Primary Care Docs on Long-Term Effects of Cancer Drugs-but Still Much Room for Improvement

ASCO Annual Meeting, Abstract # 6008 was discussed at the June, 2012 meeting.  This study revealed that major long-term adverse effects of four standard chemotherapy drugs were recognized by only two-thirds of Oncologists and by only 6 % of primary care physicians.  "This is a problem of our own success," noted outgoing ASCO President, Michael P.
